ZEDOnet was founded in Ferbruary 2000 by the managing directors Stefan Donhauser (graduate in medical science) and Florian Zeiler (graduate in computer science).
Even then a broad expertise regarding printing and driver development was available as both founders had been developing printer drivers since the 1990s.

Since 2000 ZEDOnet develops and sells Linux drivers for Brother, Canon, Epson and HP printers. We did not only aim to make these devices accessible under Linux but also to offer easy printer setup, monitoring and highest possible print quality for documents and photos. For this purpose, a new color management module was developed.
PrintFab for Mac OS X and Windows
Since 2004 we have also developed printer drivers for Mac OS X and Windows that are designed for publishing and pre-press that are marketed under the name "PrintFab". The emphasis is on photo, fineart and proof printing (CMYK documents) with accurate colors directly from publishing software or from PDFs.
Color measurement and color profiling
With our know-how and state-of-the-art color measurement equipment we can calibrate our OEM drivers exactly according to our customers' specifications. We can also create ICC profiles for printer drivers, RIP software or publishing software from other vendors.
OEM driver development
For our clients we have developed custom-made drivers for Windows (Win XP/Vista, Windows 7/8/10/11), Linux (Debian, Ubuntu, RedHat, SuSE etc.) and Mac OS X. We also programmed cross-platform drivers, generic postscript drivers and tools for automatic printer administration and monitoring.
